Thank you for downloading RiyazStudio Swarmandal - it includes and replaces the tanpura upgrade (and it's a free upgrade for users who already have Advanced Tanpura registration).
Its settings for 100+ raags generate both up and down sequences, and can give users an introduction to, or reminder of, the basic scales, rules and phrases of each raag.

Swarmandal keyboard shortcuts:
For starting and stopping Swarmandal sequences: S - starts downward sequence (also Down Arrow if tabla not playing) A - starts upward sequence (also Up Arrow if tabla not playing) X - stops sequence (first to stop sequence, second to damp Swarmandal strings)
A and S also lower or raise the drone/tanpura volume:
while holding Shift: changes the Drone volume
while holding Ctrl: changes the Tanpura volume
while holding Alt: changes the combined Drone and Tanpura volume slider
The Page Up and Page Down keys use the reed instrument to navigate the raag: Page Up - plays next usual note up in raag Page Down - plays next usual note down in raag
(holding Ctrl plays a nearer note, if in the raag
holding Shift plays a further note, if in the raag) Delete - repeats last note.
Playing notes with number keys: (1=Sa...5=Pa...7=Ni...8=high Sa...0=high Ga)
holding Ctrl plays non-shuddhe note when it exists in the raag
holding Shift plays note an octave lower
holding Alt plays note an octave higher
(select the instrument within Swarmandal settings:
playing Swarmandal or Reed, or playing and recording Tanpura sequences.)
Tanpura user settings:
If you're a user who's previously created and saved your own tanpura user settings, you'll notice we've hidden them - to avoid the tanpura dropdown menu being overloaded with user settings named after raags.
You can show them again by selecting "Load old tanpura settings" in the Swarmandal settings; then for each setting that you want to use,
click the Save button (in the user setting controls) then select "Edit existing setting" and click "Save".
Those settings should then appear (when relevant in Raag mode, and all the time outside Raag mode).
When asked "Do you want to run or save this file?", choose Save - and then
Run the installation program when it has fully downloaded.
If the installation program hasn't downloaded properly
you will get an error message such as "not a valid win32 application" or
"checksum mismatch" - so you'll need to download again
Currently, the Swarmandal is a later version than the other RiyazStudio installation programs
so needs to be installed last.
If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen blocks the installation program from running, click the "More info" link, then select the "Run anyway" option.
If you don't get this option, type and select "Reputation-based protection" in Windows' bottom left search bar, then try disabling "Check apps and files" or "Potentially unwanted app blocking".
If you have a slow internet connection you may prefer to download the
RiyazStudio installation program on a computer with a fast connection
- and then copy it across using a memory stick.
Alternatively you can always purchase RiyazStudio
on CD-ROM.
